Being a Christian stay-at-home mom and a new single parent, I must say that I find myself relying on the Lord increasingly for sustenance and guidance, clinging to the cross as I walk along the journey's path. And this is exactly what He wants us to do. To totally depend on Him and trust that He will fulfill our needs. Of course this would also include our need for sufficient income.
Many people find that to successfully obtain steady income in the midst of this economic climate is nothing short of daunting. Especially if their situation is anything similar to mine. I'm an older mom who's been at home for many years to homeschool my teenage child with special needs, and now that I'm a single parent, I take on a new challenging role as my family's sole breadwinner.
So, yes, I've been out of the workforce a bit, and currently, at this point in my life, I'm right there at the crossroads, seeking the Lord's guidance specifically for my job situation.
With that said, I know that He's the only element needed for success in every facet of life. Apart from Him, there is no lasting hope and there will always be that missing element. The one element that a lot of people look for, but find that it's too elusive. Or so they think...
As God promises in His word: "Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful wherever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." (Joshua 1:7-8 NIV version)
Jesus Christ is the real deal, and I truly believe that He will continue to provide for me and my children, as long as I continue to abide in Him. Trusting that as I step out in faith, He will guide me and open the door which He has lead me to, as it will be a way of provision.
It's also good to know that no matter what the circumstances are, He is able to do far more than we can ever ask for or imagine. (Remember, His ways are not our ways, and all things are possible with God.) Yes, with God. We cannot accomplish everything successfully in our own strength. We need Him.
Think about it. Could He be the missing element for overall success in your life? Try Jesus. Then, like me, you'll see that He is all you'll ever need.
Have a blessed day!
